How to choose the right engine oil for your car
Engine oil does far more than lubricate. It cools, cleans and protects. Start with your handbook: it lists the viscosity grade (such as 5W-30) and the approval standard your engine needs.
Fully synthetic oils flow better in the cold and last longer between changes. Mineral oils suit older engines with relaxed tolerances. If you do mostly short trips, change oil more often than the schedule suggests.
